- Impressive. Thanks for the information.
- I know a thing or two about the unknown. There's a rumor a dwarven treasure was uncovered inside the Trionic Lattice, but no one's gotten close enough to confirm it.
- I'll look into it. Thanks.
- Aside from the snow trolls prowling the area, the lattice is a natural maze. Most folks who go in never come back out.
- I see. Say, how old is Yak's Bend?
- I might have better luck.
- What brings you to Yak's Bend, stranger? We're not a large settlement, nor a safe one.
- If it's so dangerous, why are you here?
- I'm just passing through. Good-bye.
- Because we're too stubborn to leave. Yak's Bend is supposed to be a trading post, but until Rime Moraine is safe for travelers, we have no trade route.
- I see. And why isn't it safe here?
- Things will work out. See you.
- We're often visited by grawl raiders, and Sons of Svanir. We can handle the grawl, but the Svanir come to us as recruiters instead of attackers.
- Sounds tough. Hang in there.
- The Svanir are trying to bolster their numbers. They promise us protection and strength, and many find their offers hard to resist.
- With all these troubles, why don't you move?
- (mumble)
- What'cha doin'?
- I'm on to you, snoop!
- Are you all right?
- I don't even want to know.
- Nothing! No, I mean, something. But not a bad something. I'm checking things out, like this tent, to make sure we don't have any unwelcome guests.
- With all the Svanir around these parts, we can't be careless. They've done a real number in Yakkington's Toil. Just ask Uldasse.
- Maybe I will.
- N-no! This isn't what it looks like! I saw someone enter this tent—a suspicious fellow—and I was just making sure he wasn't up to anything.
- A suspicious fellow?
- A likely story. I've got my eye on you.
- Shh! I saw a stranger slip into this tent, but now it's quiet inside. I wonder what dark machinations he's up to. He's got murder on the mind, I'm sure of it!
- Or he lives here, and he's taking a nap.
- Says the man who's peering through a peephole.
- I doubt that. With all the Svanir around these parts, we can't be careless. They've done a real number in Yakkington's Toil. Just ask Uldasse.
- We've come this far, only to be met by more icebrood. Is no place safe?
- Are there icebrood where you come from?
- Don't give up. We'll defeat the dragons.
- The worst sort. The Claw of Jormag hunted down our fleeing sanctuaries, and devastated Honor of the Waves. It's only a matter of time before the Claw finds us, too.
- And if it does, we'll fight it. Hang in there.
- It's much warmer here than where we're from, and the temperature is damaging our ship. We're struggling to keep up with the repairs. If our sanctuary fails, so do we.
- Why's your ship so important?
- Not if I can help it.
- We came south to escape Jormag's minions, and to forge alliances. Without our ship, we'll be marooned on these glaciers amidst the icebrood, with too few allies to battle the dragons.
- I'll see what I can do to help.
- This is truly a time of trial for the kodan. Our ship is deteriorating, icebrood surround us, and the Voice is falling into the Rage of Koda.
- The Rage of Koda?
- Don't give up! I'll do what I can to help.
- It's a time when Koda sees fit to test us. Our physical, mental, and spiritual strengths are subjected to trials that prove our devotion, or unmake us.
- And your Voice is experiencing this condition?
- I'm sure you'll pull through.
- She has not yet entered the Rage, but with every stress, she gets closer. Icebrood attacks and sanctuary problems send her into a frenzy, and each time it's harder to calm her down.
- Hopefully things won't get too bad. Good luck.
- To be stuck here after running for so long—it seems unfair. But perhaps Koda has guided us here so we can join the Pact and defeat the dragons.
