- Your god inspires you?
- I see its importance.
- Oh yes. The sun god, Zintl, shines down through the temple, and his rays quiet our unease. To feel his light on your back is to know true happiness. We like to say he is zintlating.
- (groan) And he doesn't smite you for it?
- Do you see the desperation in my eyes? We are surrounded on all sides by the most unholy of enemies. I have never prayed so much in my life, bless Zintl. I know that I could die, and I am not ashamed to admit that I am terrified.
- Why don't you leave?
- I wish you luck. Good-bye.
- Where would I go? There is no other place for me. My family is here. My tribe. We would never survive no matter which direction we chose. Flight is no longer an option. Now, fight is all we have left.
- I'll help you for as long as I can.
- Fight! They're killing us!
- It keens with outrage, the vermin. As if that will save it. As if! (snickers) Begin test now.
- I been out here guarding Southwatch for awhile now. I've seen people like you come and go, carried off or walking off. You have to be tough to put up with the constant battles on this shore. The undead never give up.
- The undead bother you?
- You're right. I need to prepare.
- "Bother" is—how do you say that—an understatement. They shred us on a regular basis. We do what we can to keep them back, but there's no end to them. They keep coming and coming and coming and...well, you get the idea.
- Who's in charge of defenses here?
- I get it. I hope things improve soon.
- In charge? It's like Tlamatini Huelec says. When we're out here, we're all in charge. We're fighting for our lives. We have to be as brave and strong as we can be, or we'll die. We do have Wyld Hunters and a couple chieftains around, though.
- Who's Tlamatini Huelec?
- What are Wyld Hunt valiants doing here?
- Multiple chieftains? In one place?
- Praise Zintl. Tlamatini Huelec is our shaman. He lives in the temple, and says powerful prayers daily to keep the undead in the bay, away from us.
- And the Wyld Hunt valiants?
- You mentioned multiple chieftains?
- I have seen several sylvari valiants come and go. They're earnest and want to help us. I've never known warriors so determined to fulfill their destiny. It's good they come here to help us.
- Who is Tlamatini Huelec?
- They're wonderful allies. Best of luck.
- You have to understand that many tribes have come here to find refuge from the undead. It is our last safe place. The Zintl temple has welcomed all hylek tribes: the Bogotl and the Ni-tlacua, as well as many others. We fight side-by-side to survive.
- There are Wyld Hunt valiants here?
- A common enemy brings you together. Good.
- Get to the...oh, wait. You're not a refugee. You here to fight?
- I'm here to fight.
- They're going for the gate! My family is in there! Don't let them get through!
- Defend the gate!
- We have a plan. First, we stop the undead at the beach. If that fails, we stop them at the south gate. If that fails, then we're as good as dead. There will be no fail. Not so long as I breathe.
- You don't fight alone.
- Careful! I almost stabbed you by accident! Death to the Orrian undead!
- I've got your back!
- This is bad. We're losing! They have our camp, and next they'll have our lives. Do something!
- We'll kick them out.
- This is our island! Get them off our shore!
- Sounds like a good idea.
- There are undead coming, I can feel their vibrations. My tribe has seen so many undead, we can sense when they're on their way.
- You've been fighting undead for a long time?
- Your tribe?
- I'll be ready when they show up.
- A very long time. My tribe protects this island. We have been here since long before the undead came crawling out of the waters.
- The undead must bother you.
- No, I don't.
- I belong to the amber-skinned Ni-tlacua tribe. For many generations, we have lived on this island and worshipped at the Zintl Temple. We're warriors, but we're also pious followers of the sun-god.
