- Yeah. I used to make trade runs into Ebonhawke all the time, and I ran across him a bit. His name back then was just Alain Sinclare. Before the "incident."
- What incident?
- His unit was cut off behind enemy lines. They weren't heard from for weeks. Finally, a patrol stumbled across Alain. The sole surivor.
- "Deluded" may not be strong enough. He thinks he's the incarnation of some Elonian legend. But he's not even Elonian. And probably not a legend.
- How did he get that way?
- You've been very helpful. Good-bye.
- I used to be a trader, before the cease-fire, hauling supplies out to Ebonhawke. On my last run, I encountered a patrolling warband. I knew if we ran, I'd be dead.
- So you surrendered?
- I'm in no position to judge you. Farewell.
- I prefer living over the alternative. They brought me here to the Gladium Quarter, where I was held until the cease-fire. On the day it was signed, I was once again a free man.
- Why haven't you resumed trading?
- I see. Thanks for chatting.
- Things change. I've been here so long, I've grown to love the ingenuity and organization of the city. I'm a welder's apprentice now.
- I see. I wish you well.
- A wise decision, human. Good luck to you.
- No, I have plenty to say, if something is worth talking about. What exactly do you wish to talk about?
- Can I ask some general questions?
- Actually, are you familiar with the guy calling himself the "Al'Seen"?
- I can't think of anything else.
- You're that soldier, %str1%, right? The one who took down Duke Barradin?
- Are you going to hold that against me, human?
- I'm glad to see another underdog here in the city. It can be a bit intimidating with all these charr around.
- I haven't seen too many other humans around.
- That's why I keep moving. Good-bye.
- I can't stop shaking.
- Determine a course of action.
- Just breathe. Scarlet's dead. We're alive.
- Claim Buff
- Don't mock me. Can't you see I'm blind? Why do you think I smelled you?
- I did wonder. Are you looking for a sylvari?
- What do you have against "plant people"?
- (sniff sniff) Get away from me, sylvari, with your manners and friendliness. I got nothing to say to you. Why don't you make like a tree and go annoy one of the other talking shrubs?
- Quaggan Unarmed
- Ha. "Sylvari." Fancy name for a talking weed. Did you know they've only been around for twenty-five years? They just appeared, poof. That's suspicious.
- What do you have against them?
- I think I should be going. Bye.
- They're too friendly, for one. For another, they're too cheerful. Anybody that cheerful is up to no good. Never trust anyone who trusts everyone.
- You know, "cheerful" isn't always a bad thing.
- Ha. When they start taking over Tyria like the weeds they are, then you'll see. I've heard they've already taken root as far away as the Brisban Wildlands.
- I'll keep my eyes peeled. So long.
- Warmth and light, friend! I'm Vienathari of the sylvari. Oh, but what am I saying? Of course, you can tell by looking at me. Not my name, I mean. That I'm a sylvari. Oh dear.
- You remind me of a knobby newborn calf.
- Good to meet you. I'm %str1%.
- I see you've mastered the obvious.
- Oh dear. Good-bye.
- Thank you. So, what may I do for you?
- Why are you in the citadel?
- This cart isn't yours! You're a fraud and a crook.
- I appreciate your kindness. I hope I may repay you in return. What is it that you wish of me?
- Forgive me. I've only been here a short while. I'm still somewhat in awe of this city.
