- They're planning some big celebration, but that puts a lot of variables into play. With all of the incursions going on, gathering that many people together is risky.
- Been wondering the same thing, frankly. Doesn't seem like my strong suit. Ah, but who knows. They see things I can't; maybe they know what they're doing.
- I'm busy, sorry.

- You're good people.
- Isgarren's cat. If you can call her that... Older than any of us here, at least. I'm in charge of keeping her happy while Isgarren is busy.
- Nope! If I don't keep doing what I'm doing, I will have a panic attack. I ask that you please give me the space to continue my task.
- Defeat Forged to obtain a toy for your skyscale. More likely to drop from champions.

- Just keep waiting.
- Too much going on 'round here for me to be looking at dusty old things like that. Come back later.
- After I helped push back against the Kryptis, Zizel contacted me. A strange inkling drew his attention to the Bastion of the Obscure, but he couldn't determine what called him in that direction. He asked if I would investigate. The mysterious origin of this pull perplexed him—he couldn't tell if it originated from a Kryptis or Isgarren—but that's where I'm headed next. ***
- Sins of Kaineng
- How can I help?
- The Heart of the Obscure has the power to seal the Kryptis rifts you encounter in Tyria. Use the [lbracket]%str1%[rbracket] key when within range of a rift to begin sealing it.

- So you think building walls that high is wasteful?
- I first tasted your aura quite some time ago. I didn't know it was you then, but you died...and then came back?
- I like the "smell" of that.

- *A bookmark pulls you to a passage midway through the volume. You wonder who was reading it last.* Following Marron's failed attempt to breach the tower walls, a great many were inspired to do the same—the cult of Verata being a primary suspect for nearly a decade's time. Just before Isgarren and Zeak, the present Warden of the Astral Ward, were readying to move the tower from its slumber in Kessex back to the bounds of Amnytas (which was fixed across the ocean, far to the north at the time), a small splinter group of more or less corrupt necromancers led by Verata himself managed to ascend the exterior wall. Only a handful of the ward were present at the time, but, under Isgarren's orders, went into hiding while Isgarren and Zeak set an elaborate trap. Isgarren, disguised as a young human boy, guided Verata and his cultists through the halls of the tower in the form of a chase. Most of the doors were locked, limiting their pursuit. They cornered him in the Hall of Confluence, but before they could capture the fleeing boy, Isgarren offered the many treasures of his master. Verata balked at the notion, demanding to be told more of the tower's secrets. Where did it come from? Who was this "master"? As they interrogated Isgarren, one of the necromancers stepped a little too close to one of the cosmic gateways in the chamber. Isgarren begged them not to get too near, lest they unravel the truth behind the Wizard's Tower. Verata, being much too eager to see through Isgarren's games, guided the young boy to step through first so they could follow. He did, and while Isgarren was safely deposited in another section of the Wizard's Tower, Verata and his cultlings were dropped straight into the ocean. It took them hours, swimming from island to island, to make it back to the coast.

- Entry 892: Well, the golems we sent out have confirmed my suspicions: the thinning of the air is not from some pollutant. We are floating in the sky. I've restricted everyone to the city for now, until I can get a better assessment of the situation. Better to keep as few citizens as possible aware of our predicament, so as not to cause a panic. Entry 893: I've developed several hypotheses for what might have happened to create this...unique situation. The popular rumor around the city is that it's my doing; a trial run gone wrong. I wish that were the case—it would be a blessing. Instead, I suspect the truth will be much less pleasant. Entry 894: My testable hypotheses have all failed. That's good, in a way; some of them would have been catastrophic if they were true. But it leaves troubling questions that I'm unable to resolve. Further study will be required, but until I can determine what's really going on, the people need to be kept calm.
