- Close enough, but this sort of thing was never covered at the College of Synergetics.
- Steam beast numbers are increasing, allowing them to press forward and attack Afgar's Steading. Help defend the hold.
- Limonite Dye[s]
- Afgar's Steading
- Hey, do you hear something?
- All I'm hearing is you losing at bones.
- Wait, no, I do hear something. It sounds like...steam?
- What a battle! I haven't felt this good since my last jotun hunt.
- Yeah, good times. Why did they attack us, though? What do they have to gain?
- They only gained one thing from that fight: a healthy respect for our strength!
- I'll wager a month's pay that I can kill more than you!
- Ha! That's one bet I know I'll win. You're on.
- The dragons are destruction. They will not stop until all life on Tyria is destroyed.
- Welcome to my lodge. Is there something you need?
- I'm looking for information about the area.
- Not right now, thanks.
- Well, I can certainly help you with that. There are minotaurs, frost wurms, jotun... Tons of adventure to be found! What more could anyone want?
- I'd like to hear more about minotaurs.
- Frost wurms, huh?
- Tell me about the jotun.
- No, I'm fine.
- They're big, tough, hairy, and they mostly stick to the west. Not much more to say about them.
- Interesting. What about the frost wurms?
- Got it, thanks!
- Ah, the frost wurms. Listen close, now. There are more to them than the local small fry would lead you to believe. Out west, past Lyot's little farm, there's a sight to behold! I'm not boring you, am I?
- No, please continue.
- Maybe minotaurs are more up my alley.
- I have to be going, actually.
- The jotun around here are in a pretty sorry state, if you ask me. Something drove most of them from their homes, and all that's left are some stragglers to the south.
- Driven from their homes?
- Huh. Minotaurs, then?
- Ouch. Thanks for the info.
- Excellent! So, the wurms out west are much bigger than ours. I've heard of a wurm big enough to eat ten norn whole! The tales are rare and the survivors rarer—frost wurms don't cook, ha!—but I believe them.
- That's, uh, funny. So, how about those minotaurs?
- Interesting. Maybe I'll check it out.
- Yes. Some metal things on the lake killed most of them. Those who weren't killed and didn't want to leave came here. Those metal creatures are tough, though. Not as tough as a norn, but a fair hunt.
- Get out of Lion's Arch before we toss you out on your cogs!
- Tell me more about these metal creatures.
- Huh. How about the minotaurs, then?
- Sounds interesting.
- Well, nobody's sure where they come from, but they're certainly driving the Priory mad with curiosity. Me, I don't much care where they're from. I just care that they're formidable foes!
- Anyone ever go hunt them?
- Tell me about the minotaurs.
- Thanks for the info. I'll be off now.
- As a matter of fact, Rakona and her boys are out hunting them right now. If you hurry, you might be able to catch them.
- Really? Point the way!
- Not right now. Tell me about the minotaurs.
- Thanks for all the information.
- Sorry, no time to talk right now. I'm a little busy.
