- I'm concerned that the portals on the lake may have lasting repercussions to the area.
- But, while we may not be able to prevent their appearance, we can certainly act to disrupt them.
- Steam Portal
- I'm still not certain what just happened, but those...things...should just stay in their realm.
- Regardless, I'm concerned about the long-term stability of the area. How can we prevent this in the future?
- You'll work it out eventually. Until then, you'll have me and others like me around to help. We'll be fine.
- The world's just one big mystery, isn't it? A mystery just waiting to be solved. You ever feel that way?
- Every day.
- I can't say I'd given it much thought.
- Nope. Have fun with your mystery.
- I knew you looked smarter than the usual dross I meet. Just look at this place. Deldrimor ruins, strange constructs, and a dragon out there somewhere to top it all off. It's exhilarating, isn't it?
- Do you know much about these ruins?
- What are those constructs anyway?
- Sorry, but ruins, steam beasts, and dragons don't excite me.
- Maybe you should try. Relying on others to think for you is a dangerous habit.
- You seem to have worked it out. What's your take?
- I'll take it under advisement.
- Tramples
- It's certainly not what it used to be, but Lornar's Pass once led between grand cities. It also saw magnificent dwarven battles, as well as heroes great and small trying to make names for themselves.
- What about those constructs?
- Well, some things haven't changed.
- Their true nature is yet to be determined. Their metal composition is intertwined with flesh and bone in places. Not enough for a normal creature to survive, mind, but enough to make me wonder...
- And what can you tell me about these ruins?
- I don't want to know how you found that out.
- Oh, finally, someone new to talk to. My boss is nice and all, but she does drone on. And on, and on...
- Anything interesting?
- What are you even doing out here?
- No time to chat. Sorry.
- If you ask her, yes. She'll be more than happy to tell you how fascinating it all is. Her favorite topic is the steam creatures. Personally, I get more than enough exposure to them already.
- What's your take on the steam creatures, then?
- Perhaps she'll have information I can use.
- Priory duty. We go where knowledge can be found. And when Lojj stated her intentions for this post, I volunteered to assist her. I couldn't let her come out here alone.
- I thought you were tired of her.
- That's kind of you. Take care.
- They're big, strong, nasty, and completely unnatural. I don't dislike much in this world, but those steam creatures make the list.
- Why come out here to study them, then?
- I may just have to check those out.
- She can be quite a thorn in my side, certainly, but she's a good friend and a good person. Helping her is the least I can do.
- Double-click to learn the Armorsmith recipe for Box of Knight's Barbaric Armor (Master)
- I don't like it here. We should get this over with as soon as possible.
- What's wrong?
- Agreed.
- These creatures. They're just...too close for comfort, I suppose. I hope Lojj can satisfy her curiosity soon so we can head back to camp.
- What's she curious about?
- Getting back to camp does sound good.
- Anything. Everything. Currently, it's these steam beasts. She thinks if she collects enough scraps from their base, she can find out what makes them tick.
- She may be right. Perhaps I can lend a hand.
- Well, I hope you get back to camp in one piece.
- What in the Eternal Alchemy is going on here?
- Shouldn't you tell me? I thought you knew everything.
