- By attempting to define the undefinable, they actually move further from the truth rather than closer to it.
- How are you getting the Ghostbore cannon to Claw Island?
- I am no expert, but they're immature as a race. Their concept of nightmare and Dream is simplistic at best.
- Too black and white, too unsophisticated to explain the changes affecting some of them.
- She's been disassembled and packed in the galleon. Once we arrive, I'll beat Snarl with a stick until he puts it back together again.
- Well, that's one way to do things, I suppose.
- The Pale Tree is said to protect them from the corruption of the other dragons. Both Scarlet and Aerin rejected her, no?
- It makes sense that sylvari would be vulnerable to Mordremoth, a plant-based being like themselves.
- (laugh) The looks on your faces!
- You could have warned us.
- Nope. No no no. That would've sapped the fun right out of it.
- So tell me. What do you know now that you didn't before?
- Entertain an old dwarf. Tell me your tale.
- It was a portal to Glint's lair.
- So it was. The Master of Peace and I set it up after Glint's death so I could guard it for the Brotherhood.
- I saw the Master of Peace take an egg.
- How are you getting the Sonic Harmonizer to Claw Island?
- The Master of Peace was in there. I saw echoes of the past.
- Crystals are useful. They are an efficient substance for storing magic, second only to and less rare than bloodstone shards.
- Well, it wasn't easy but we were able to break it down. Once we arrive, we'll unbox, detox, and rock socks!
- Yeppers.
- It's absolutely beautiful. Whatever you're doing, it's impressive.
- I'm flattered, but it's really Donala's project. She's been working to keep some of the land free of the dragon's corruption. I'm here to make sure she survives the attempt.
- Well, you both seem to be great at what you do.
- Riagan's enthusiasm does not compensate for his limited worldly experience and lack of common sense. The severity of the undead threat mandates effective strategy, not sylvari frou-frou.
- You egotistical twerp! Quit squabbling like mice over food.
- Learn to compromise.
- The magic seemed to come alive as I moved around.
- Sheesh, I get it, I get it. I suppose it's a little petty, but I assure you, I've given his plans fair consideration and still think they indicate his leafy brain has attracted some fungus.
- Then take charge or learn to compromise.
- I'm just here to hold back the invading undead. But I've spent more time listening to those two goons arguing over strategy than actually doing any good.
- Stay above it. Just do your duty.
- I'm a member of the Priory, as well. Any information you want to share?
- Stick with it.
- Magic is life. Without life, there is no magic. The lair has lain empty for several years. It may have been triggered by your life essence. The images it showed you were chosen by your need.
- Easy for you to say. It's just one big spitting contest. Whoever's plan produces the largest glob of saliva wins.
- Thank you. We must be on our way now.
- That's really gross. But I get what you're saying.
- No interesting developments on this assignment. I used to work in the Priory itself, helping assemble and organize teams for field work. But it was too depressing, so I switched to a support position here.
- What was depressing about it?
- Doesn't sound like this job's much better.
- Part of my job was processing paperwork for all of the researchers lost in the field. So many don't survive their duties. Not a single team sent to investigate Orr has returned.
- Orr?
- I don't know of a better place to search for the root of the undead corruption spreading like a plague through Tyria. We can guess it's dragon-related, but no one's actually given an eye-witness account.
- That by itself sounds like dragons to me.
- I understand the importance of this work. Ornery ghosts are a danger to anyone using the road. But we'll never hold up against the dragons with our resources scattered by distractions.
- Every fight to protect the innocent has its place in this war.
- Just do what you can.
- Fear not. He did not steal it. He was given custody of it.
- Well said. I recognize that. My only concern is that if we face too many of those fights, there will be no one left alive to fight them.
