- Why did you think I was stationed here?
- Yeah, I don't need your attitude. I'm leaving.
- Huh, you're not stationed here then? Well, well, well. I got an adventurer staring me in the face. Make it quick, hero.
- Why did you think I was going to be stationed here?
- How are things here?
- The Dragontooth Defense
- You're in the Dragonbrand. You had to have heard of this place. It's miles of twisted and broken land, all thanks to Kralkatorrik. And it's filled with corrupted beasts that run on pure malice.
- So, how's you draw this assignment?
- Yeah, well, I'm not one of your recruits. Keep that in mind.
- The only charr we see out here are sent here to join the Sentinels. I figured you were just another gladium looking for some honor you could take to your death.
- We're holding our own. Nothing from in the Brand is going to get past us. If you want to lend a hand, you could help with patrols. Good luck and stay sharp, soldier. Dismissed.
- Until you die? Can't you get out of here?
- We're called the Sentinels. Some are here to restore their honor for past screwups. Some are here because they got nowhere else to go. Together, we patrol the Brand until we die.
- It's strange to see a charr legion out here. What are you doing out here?
- Short version. This is the Dragonbrand. Years ago, the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik flew over here and corrupted this land with its breath. Everyone that's not me or you is a twisted killer. Got it?
- What happened to you? Why did you get sent out here?
- I'm not dying with the words "coward" or "weakling" attached to my name. I'll never see the Black Citadel again, or even green grass, but people will know I fought with honor.
- Fine. I bet you had it coming anyway. Coward.
- We've all done things that we wish we didn't. I bet I'll understand.
- Okay, fine. What can I do to help?
- Have it your way.
- What? No, that's not for civilian ears. Move on, will ya?
- I believe you. Tell me what I can do to help out.
- Oh yeah? You hold out on a ghost-packed ridge for a night after those spooks wiped out your warband. I never ran that night, no matter what my legionnaire says. I'll die here proving my bravery.
- No, you don't know! If you try to sweet-talk your way into my good graces like that again, I'll turn you into a stain on the rocks. Now, get out of my sight.
- Hrmph. We could always use a hand on patrols. Go out there and show those...things that we're here to stay.
- Understood. Need an extra hand...temporarily, I mean?
- Yeah, never mind.
- Cut me a break, will ya? People are out here because of some long-ago mistake, even if they didn't cause it. Telling another charr...nah, too many bad memories. Just forget it, will ya?
- Show where the Sentinels are patrolling. I'll help them out.
- No. I got other plans.
- Listen, we're short-handed here. Legionnaire Cruelshot and her warband are out doing depopulation patrol. You know, search and kill. She'll need a hand. Interested?
- Good. Travel along the coast. Cruelshot's group should be patrolling the perimeter of Tenaebron Lake.
- Cruelshot's warband should be doing a group dive in Tenaebron Lake by now. What are you waiting for? Get a move on!
- Hey, buddy! We're going Brand-hunting. Come on, we got room for more on this patrol.
- Got it. Let's go.
- Finally, we got a patrol. Come on. Let's bust up some branded freaks. Man, I should have come out here ages ago. It's like hunting with no bag limit.
- It's the little things, I guess.
- Sometimes, I hear a death cry when the branded creatures die. It's like the sound of rusted gears grinding to a halt. Music to my ears.
- It's our turn to hunt down large collections of branded and cull their numbers. If you want to fight with us, you're welcome to join.
- Noted.
- Cut my claws! They're coming from the lake. Ugh, that means we're going in. Some advice, buddy: don't drink the water and kill anything that ain't us.
- Got it. Last one in is a furless charr.
- Oooh, something big is stirring in the water, and it's got my name all over it. Something tells me I'm gonna like this swim. Let's go.
- You have...interesting tastes.
- This lake is cold and filled with death. The only drawback is you can't hear the branded scream when you gut them.
- Fighting the branded on land is no problem, but I hate wet fur. Let's get this over with.
- Not a bad fishing story, considering your warband was the bait.
- Can't believe it. A giant fish was causing all that trouble. I've been out here fourteen months and never seen a thing like that. Just proves that the Brand always has something new to throw at you.
- I could go for some swatting myself.
