- What does this prove?
- Congratulations, %str1%. You have done well to find me.
- How do you know my name?
- I am one of the Ash Legion veteran spies. I could be a breath's distance behind you and you'd never know it.
- How did you know my name?
- The tales of your deeds, both good and bad, have reached my ears. You are definitely one to be watched.
- Disturbed dirt
- One day, Grimmal Bloodthorn, legionnaire of the Thorn warband, mentioned his indigestion to Nammal. Tongue in cheek, the runt said, "Why don't you try howling at the moon? It works for wolves."
- When was that last time?
- So this has happened before, in the age of the jotuns? Interesting.
- The next day, Bloodthorn returned, and Nammal cringed, expecting a blow. Instead, Bloodthorn grinned. "Howling worked. You're a genius."
- It shows that the awakening of the dragons is a natural and cyclical thing. The stars only indicate the passing ages. They do not determine events here.
- When did it last happen?
- The Rise of Ebonhawke Volume I: The Recall
- A messenger from Ascalon arrived today, bringing the first word from home since the Vanguard were tasked with slowing the charr offensive, years ago. The Vanguard's deeds reached the ears of the king.
- The forces have been recalled. There's a quiet relief that can be felt throughout the unit. Their long, hard-fought struggle is coming to an end.
- Away from the troops, Captain Gwen Thackeray seems concerned, an unspoken question on her lips. Though Ascalon is telling them to return, is their mission really complete with charr still nearby?
- The troops leave a skeleton force to protect the Eye of the North as they set out in the black of night on their return journey. The captain won't let the charr know that we've all but abandoned the north.

- The Founding: Vol I
- Moo.
- (Leave.)
- Humans aren't as nasty tempered as I thought they'd be.
- Why'd you think they would be?
- Suddenly I'm looking forward to submitting my project report. Oh yes.
- In the fahrar, you hear stories about cowardly, spiteful humans sneaking in at night and kidnapping sleeping cubs.
- What else?
- Once you're kidnapped, the humans would make you play with balls of yarn and dress you up in little outfits. If you were good, they'd give you bits of fish.
- Oh, come on. No one does that.
- The charr are ferocious in battle, but in person they seem a little more...human. We were just trading stories we were told about growing up.
- Oh? What were you told growing up in Ebonhawke?
- Not interested.
- That Ash Legion scouts stalked the streets at night looking for naughty children who were out past their bedtime.
- So, what happened when they caught the kids?
- We heard the bad children were used to fuel their gigantic war machines. Tossed into the furnaces alive and screaming!
- That's a little far-fetched.
- Yeah, this charr said that human flesh and blood made for lousy fuel. I pretty sure that was a joke...right?
- Heh, I'm sure.
- Bickering, bickering, bickering. It's all I hear. They've got death on their doorstep, and they'd rather talk about seating arrangements.
- What's a Sentinel legionnaire doing here?
- No, this isn't right. Let me see... Yes. This way.
- The Dragonbrand's just northwest of here. I'm here to remind the delegates that there are bigger problems out there than history and racial hatred.
- I have a good feeling about the direction we're headed.
- The dragons pose a greater threat than Ebonhawke has ever faced. And considering everything we've been through with the charr, that says that dark days are ahead.
- I'm guessing you support the treaty.
- True. Good-bye.
- Not everyone from Ebonhawke supports it, but I've watched our walls crumble under the assault of Kralkatorrik's minions. I know the horror that we face, and we can't face it alone.
- Welcome to Summit Peak. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, please let me or one of my soldiers know immediately.
- What's your take on the peace summit?
- If only the Consortium had granted my funding request for a golem positioning system.
