• These little creatures—the "gwyldell," I believe—are a marvel to study. I'm not sure whether this is due to instinct or if it is a learned behavior, but they've been observed tending to various natural anomalies throughout the forest. They seem to linger near wells of ley energy, and when those wells are disrupted they flock and tend to the flow of magic until it is repaired. I haven't been able to earn their trust, so I've yet to conduct a proper analysis of what they truly are. But given their gentle nature I'd rather they come to me on their own. I was able to collect a single fecal sample, and after testing it... I sound mad, I know, but I suspect they may be related to treants. Their magical composition is so dense that I'm a bit appalled that they're not more ethereal in nature. It's as if they are manifested from the forest itself, but they are also corporeal. Fascinating.

For a people whose individuals only know the experience of a couple hundred years before their passing, I am impressed by what they're capable of in a lifetime. While the modestly sized Clan Way of the Deldrimor dwarves isn't as far traveled as the Brinehewn of the Great Turtle Spine or the Gilgriff of the eastern Dawnsheer Range, they have mapped no small amount of the Tyrian continent's subterranean ley-line network. Gruna is no exception. Her clan's maps have been a reliable tool for tracking the migration patterns of the dragons and their minions, as they are drawn to large pools or currents of ley-line magic. **Risks:** Gruna is—and I take no pleasure in expressing this—taxingly blunt, at least by my standards. One might see Gruna's candor and attribute as having a certain strategic value. She speaks plainly where many of us would not, goading reactions and extracting hidden agendas. My express concern would be whether her form of "sincerity" would be ideal for this more delicate affair. Still, I believe there are some measures we can take to reduce the risk of a diplomatic incident.

• More detailed examinations made of the key structures today. The style shares similarities with the few other seer examples we have, but while those showed evidence of integration with other early Tyrian cultures, the designs here are truly unique. It'll take time to ascertain their precise age, but it looks like these really do predate everything else we've found before. And yet, they appear even more complex and detailed than the structures that came later. This suggests a decline in craftsmanship, but why? Possible theories: 1. The mainland examples represent a divergent group of seers who broke off and lived separately and thus developed a different culture. 2. The mainland examples we've found were from a remnant of the overall culture that survived for an undetermined period after the destruction of their civilization. 3. The mainland examples are really just evidence of non-seers adapting the ruins for their own purposes. Further study will be needed to determine which of these hypotheses is most likely.

• Professor Drugga sent us to scout the forest west of our new operations base. It was a largely uneventful assignment—we didn't want to venture too far without backup—but when we started making our way back, my scanner would not cease beeping. It kept warning us about spikes of unidentified energies nearby, but we couldn't see, hear, or smell anything. I assumed the damn thing malfunctioned...until Yipp took a step forward and vanished. All that was left behind was a glittering ripple in the air and a single drawn-out scream. Kaysi and I lingered there for a while, mostly due to the shock, but we also observed numerous local creatures enter the same area and disappear as well. Right before we headed back to base, Yipp emerged from the thicket drenched in sweat. He explained that after vanishing, he reappeared about a mile south of our location—spit out of a rift that opened up in the sky. We marked the location and headed right back to base to inform Drugga. She immediately escalated our findings to the director himself, who ordered us to build a small containment facility around the spot. I wonder if we can use this to our advantage...
