- Dragonflies?
- Of course! Everyone loves my lecture on aquatic diversity. Some even elect to hear it multiple times.
- Ever see any sharks?
- That's great. See you later.
- Ah, that would be truly brilliant! But no, sharks do not inhabit these waters.
- I'll just figure it out for myself.
- Fire, you say? I'd wager a month's salary that it started during Professor Hamm's lecture. I'm sure they'll extinguish it soon.
- Your lecture seems to be going well, at least.
- The Cuatl are brutes, and they take from everyone, even us. Any Cuatl you kill helps keep this village fed. When they're not raiding the village, they can be found in the marsh's eastern part.
- A dolyak? I bet Professor Hamm's progeny are enjoying this one.
- Your progeny seem to be enjoying your lecture.
- I bet you're right.
- Hm, what is it this time? Embers, sparks? I'm sure they'll return to normal soon.
- Progeny here seem to be enjoying your lecture.
- Anything else I can do?
- A broodmother is no cause for alarm. We have perfectly capable personnel who can handle that.
- Progeny seem to enjoy your lecture.
- I'll see what I can do.
- You know, there's a warning label on the sizemachanger. Do you think those progeny will ever read it?
- Your students seem to enjoy your lecture.
- Probably not.
- The desk is dusty and looks to have been discarded.
- Wipe away some of the dust.
- We love dragonflies. We settled here because dragonflies nest here. But they're no easy prey. The nests are full of tasty dragonflies, but the only way to get them is to smoke them out with a cloud of poison.
- I'll go look for them.
- Something has been etched into the desk.
- Take a closer look.
- It says, "%str1%."
- You can join our hunting parties and kill dragonflies for us. Or, even better, capture live dragonflies! I have special darts that subdue dragonflies without tainting their meat.
- I'll take some darts.
- Oh yes! There are sure to be tasty dragonflies in the nests, but the only way to get them is to smoke them out with a cloud of poison.
- Poison?
- When our young hatch, they require strong nutrients to survive. Leaves of soft marsh plants are perfect for them. Unfortunately, skelk and drakes roam the north where the plant thrives.
- There is so much to do around here. We have to feed ourselves, and we also have to feed our tadpoles. If only the Cuatl would stay out of our supplies.
- How can I help you feed yourselves?
- How do you feed your offspring?
- Would—you—care—to—converse—with—Parnna, my—maker? For—the—conversationally—inept, a—prerecorded—message—is—available.
- I'm not inept! I'm antisocial. Just...play the message.
- Hello, friend, enemy, distant acquaintance, or otherwise inept entity. I'm unable to meet you right now. If you'd like to further my research, say "help." If you don't want to help, say "I'm a useless clod."
- Help.
- Bear Cub[s]
- I'm not saying that.
- Most appreciated. There are gate pieces throughout the caves up the hill to the southeast. Please retrieve them. To hear more, say "more." To exit, say "I'm a quitter."
- More.
- No.
- My Listings
- Good work! You're ready for some real conflict! Would you like to exit to the lobby?
- Yes!
- The local wildlife is delaying my deliveries from Rata Sum. Please eradicate hostiles in the area. Thank you.
- How will I feed the tribe? I can't cook without supplies!
