• Oh! Well, let me tell you. My domestic partner worked with Omadd back when Scarlet was studying there. And he told me she was crazy even then.

• Not who is. Who was. He's dead, killed by Scarlet just before she disappeared. He was Headmaster Emeritus of the College of Synergetics and Scarlet's biggest supporter, the fool.
• Supporter?
• Quite. The Arcane Council wanted to toss her out on her blooming bum, but Omadd made such a convincing case for her rare genius that he got them curious. So, they let her believe they were welcoming her.
• They weren't welcoming her?
• No. They were studying her. I mean, what if you could replicate her? What if you could grow a plant that increased your ability to reason? Unfortunately, they added to her megalomania.
• Durmand Priory at your service via me. How can I help you?
• I'm looking into Scarlet. Do you know anything about her?
• How is it that a sylvari could be so smart?
• What do you think her goal is?

• The Priory has a record of her birth, or awakening as the sylvari call it. She is not one of the firstborn. To my knowledge, she never joined an order either. My guess is she has trouble taking orders.
• How is it that you are? The world is mysterious, my friend. If I've learned anything in the Durmand Priory, it's to never say never. Perhaps her insanity makes her seem smarter than she really is?
• The Priory thinks she's bent on world domination, but I think her motives are far more sinister. I think she wants the world all to herself. She's certainly not very sociable.
• As we've seen, it's volatile—lethal in some cases. I expect she'll distill it, make it stronger, then use it against her enemies. The only remaining question is: Who are her enemies?
• It crimps my whiskers that one teeny sylvari could cause so much havoc.
• I'm ashamed to say she studied with one of my kind, a gladium named Asagai. He was renowned for his skill with firearms. How she ever convinced him to train her, I'll never know.
• That slippery sylvari, Scarlet, has put one over on all of us. She tapped our best reserves when she accepted training from our craftsmen, then she turned and bit the hands that fed her.

• I heard she apprenticed with Beigarth, one of the most respected metalsmiths in Hoelbrak. It churns my bowels to think of her living among us there.

• What's the theory on why?
• We think she's looking for a location for a base or perhaps a factory. She's difficult to track, what with the portals she uses to move around, but we're doing what we can.

• Are you familiar with Scarlet?
• Quaggan knows about her. She's responsible for all this, for quaggan not having a home anymore. She's the reason quaggan has to move to Lion's Arch.
• Quaggan is strong. Besides, she's also the reason quaggan met Peneloopee. So, there's a silver lining to her black, black cloud.

• Hm? Oh. Quaggan saw her when she visited the krait, long before the tower. She gave them pieces of an obelisk, and she gave them a seed. I saw the krait plant the seed for her.
• The Nightmare sylvari came after that, and they tended the seed. They took good care of it and protected it from the fishes that wanted to eat it. They hid it when it got too big.
• Have you seen Katterwik? Did she make it back?

• A skritt who was here in the camp when we first arrived. She went into the tower with some of the adventurers. I haven't seen her come out.
• Oh no. She didn't make it out? That's so sad. She was...annoying, but in an endearing sort of way. Thank you for finding out for me.

• I've heard that after the tower fell, the surviving toxic krait fled through portals, taking their obelisk shards with them. Spirits only know what they're doing with them now.
• What else have you heard?
• Between you and me, Steward Gixx wasn't pleased that the krait made off with those shards. Now we can only guess what else we might have learned from them.
• Your colleagues are welcome to have a look at the one that I was able to recover.
• We know the rare and immensely powerful objects are sacred to the krait, but we can only speculate about their purpose.
