- Stop. Stay down and stay quiet.
- What's going on?
- Absolutely.
- Company Mortar
- Right down there is Flame Legion country. You're standing on the front line. The one that doesn't exist. From up here, we can monitor the Flame soldiers' movements in this area.
- They're within range. Why don't you attack them?
- It's tempting, but we can be more effective if they don't know we're here. Occasionally, one of those fire imps will wander right up to this ledge, but we have to withdraw into the dark of the cave.
- So you just hide here?
- We occasionally make small hit and run strikes, when the risk is low. Some day, this might be a launching point for a full-scale attack, but we're maybe a dozen Ash scouts. We prosper in the shadows.
- I guess that makes sense.
- Ash Legion Scout
- Aren't they beautiful? Don't you love this time of year?
- Merc Target
- I don't have time to stop and admire the view.
- Break cocoon
- Look around. The oakhearts have sprouted their loveliest plumage. The bears are out of hibernation. The marmox's coat has a lustrous sheen. And the grawl have donned their most flattering loincloths.
- You're not afraid they'll attack you?
- Not at all. And even if they did, can you imagine a more glorious time of year to die?
- I think I'll just leave you to your nature watching.
- Naturalist
- Welcome to Jonnoville. I'm Jonno—founder, creator, and skritt king of Jonnoville.
- Webbed Cocoon
- I'll let you get back to work, your majesty.
- Seraph Supply Pile
- I found it today, so I'm the founder, so it's all mine. Others who live in Jonnoville are very quiet. Very easy to rule.
- Do you know what...made them so quiet?
- Don't know, they just came that way. But I'm too busy to answer questions. Busy being Jonnoville founder, creator, and skritt king. You ask, but quiet people of Jonnoville are not very chatty.
- I'll let you return to your rule.
- King of Jonnoville
- A hide-bound journal is lying on the ground beside the fallen Whispers Agent. It is badly charred, as if someone had made a hurried attempt to destroy it.
- Read journal.
- Leave the journal alone.
- Take chicken feed
- Only small portions of a few pages remain intact. What little is decipherable seems to be a list of weapons, with a second column which appears to be map coordinates.
- Place journal back on the ground.
- This heap of splintered wood is all that remains of a few storage crates.
- Examine the wooden rubble.
- Chicken Feed
- Take crate for delivery to fort
- The smell of black powder emanates from the wooden heap. These crates have recently contained weapons of some sort.
- Leave broken crates alone.
- I know what you want to ask, and the answer is, "It'll be ready when it's ready."
- Whatever you're making, it smells like it's worth waiting for.
- Doesn't matter. Just the smell has made me lose my appetite.
- You're the chef. You know best.
- What are you cooking?
- I'll just check back later.
- Newly arrived supplies
- We're pretty much limited to whatever we can catch. Skelk, hermit crab...this here's Hadrian's pet dolyak. Had to do something—yesterday we had tar bubble casserole for lunch.
- Why is food so hard to come by?
