- Hold on. I have to think about this.
- This abandoned journal bears the mark of the Screaming Falcons. It is heavily worn and has several missing pages.
- Read the journal.
- Flip to the end of the journal.
- Close the journal.
- Today, the Screaming Falcons began patrolling the area around the monastery. Morale remains high. These centaurs are tough, but we're an elite Seraph company. They don't stand a chance.
- Disaster. Ambushed by centaurs. Most of the Falcons are dead, the rest taken prisoner. They knew where we'd be and were waiting for us, but how?
- Your world is currently seventh in its league.
- Hid this journal in my boot, but I can only write when they're not watching us. I doubt I'll survive this. The centaurs are vicious and cruel. They kill one or two of us each day.
- Only a few Falcons left, starving and thirsty. I pray that a loyal Krytan will find this journal. Tell the queen that Falcon Company was sold out for gold and comfort.
- Dying. If I ever get out of here, I'll kill Captain Tervelan. He revealed our patrol route to the centaurs. Now, they mock us with his betrayal. Grenth take him, and Dwayna have mercy on our souls.
- The last entry in the journal is a short list of names: soldiers who survived the ambush. Deborah, your sister, is on this list, and her name's one of the few not crossed out.
- I don't have time to talk right now.
- You'd better. You could be tried for treason.
- Your help could clear up an important legal matter.
- Please? You would be of such help to us.
- I need you to answer some questions.
- I won't bother you, then.
- Treason! What have I done?
- Tell me about serving under Captain Tervelan. Did you know he betrayed Falcon Company?
- If you don't know, you probably can't help.
- I was only following orders! I knew nothing of treason! I just delivered messages.
- Messages that endangered the Seraph. Messages that got their patrol routes into centaur hands.
- A message? That's all I needed to know.
- Oh, Dwayna. I swear I didn't know. Look, sometimes those centaurs sell captives to slavers—human bandits—and there's a group of them operating out of a camp to the east.
- I'll look into that. Now get out of my sight.
- A legal matter? In that case, I'll do what I can to help.
- Let's show them what we're made of!
- Never mind. I don't think you can help.
- Tervelan's a horrible man and a bully. Serving under him was no picnic. Asking questions was like volunteering for corporal discipline. We knew to keep our mouths shut.
- Is there any chance that part of Falcon Company could still be alive?
- I see. That's everything I wanted to know.
- If the centaurs took them captive, they'd sell the prisoners to human slavers. There's a bandit camp to the east that dabbles in the slave trade. You could look there...
- It sounds important. I'd be glad to help. What do you need?
- To victory!
- Never mind, I don't have any questions for you.
- I suppose, if it's important. What do you need?
- Sagularis Ironhammer
- Can you smell the smoke? Hear the clanging? We're building the weapons of the future. Unfortunately, we're having to wage constant battle against the Separatists just to keep on schedule.
- What weapons of the future?
- I have so very many stories to tell.
- I know that look in your eyes. You would like to spar with me.
- Let's rumble.
- Explorer Caelisa
- We're reinforced by the Pact encampment in the ruined Village of Wren. Assuming they're not under attack themselves.
- Our farm is famous in our little corner of Kryta. These birds have better breeding than the flashiest sylvan hound. And the meat and eggs we supply feed people all through the region.
- What does your husband do?
- He runs things, and generally does whatever work Todor and I don't have the stomach for. I sell the eggs, and Todor is in charge of herding.
- Kona Timberrend
