- I don't know. I guess I'm just used to it. The charr have been at our throats for generations. It's a part of who we are. Even good changes take some adjustment.
- A box filled with mystic asuran components is mounted in the undead creature's chest.
- Is that bat still there? The thing just swept in and starting flapping around my mining station. I can't work under these conditions!
- Arrgh! Oh, I thought you were another one of those nasty cliff bats. Thanks goodness you're...well, mostly non-threatening.
- ...Thanks?
- Ugh. Those mice were giving me whiskey watered down with norn ale. As soon as I can see straight, they're going to pay.
- Sleep it off first. With a clear head, you'll know they aren't worth it.
- Ha! Can't handle your booze, can you?
- You, what's your name? I think you just made my list.
- %str1%. And don't forget it.
- Heh. Gotta go.
- What? It's a moral imperative to show them you don't mess with me. And you don't water down charr whiskey.
- Suit yourself.
- Count your days, %str1%. I'll show you what...zzzzzzzzzz.
- Real intimidating. Try not to drool into your fur.
- These cubs were assigned to our fahrar recently. Soon they will be ready to choose their warband's name and their own.
- That brings back memories. Much of my warband was lost, but I'll never forget the bonds we forged as cubs.
- How do the names work?
- My warband became the Grave warband because we were stoic and focused, ready to put any opponent into the grave. I was the best trapper in our group, so I took the name Gravepelt.
- That's true for so many of us. The humans tell me that it's cruel to teach our cubs to fight so young. They don't understand the bonds we form in our fahrar.
- I wouldn't trade it for anything.
- It's funny. Those Renegades act so tough, but they know better than to come near us archers. Our volleys are more effective than their mortars.
- Take care.
- Renegade mortars are pathetic. They litter the field with duds. We spend more time cleaning up after them than defending against them.
- You showed those thieving Separatists a thing or two. Great work. Maybe they'll think twice before trying to steal from my ranch again. Come back anytime. — Rak Deathmane
- I'll pick up any unexploded ones I see.
- Yeah, the unexploded mortar rounds that end up scattered between us and them. They're dangerous to wildlife. We try to pick them up, but who's got time for it?
- I'll pick up any unexploded ones I see.
- Hard to imagine this farm was the site of a bloody battle two hundred years ago. We still find bones and bits of weaponry when we dig for crops each year.
- Find anything interesting?
- Dug up a blackened charr skull. That was more unsettling than anything. A friend of mine found a rusty shield. Not worth anything. Just a bit of history, I suppose.
- So, what do you do out here, when you're not digging up relics?
- Not much. Just run the Ebon Vanguard. Wade Samuelsson, captain of the Ebon Vanguard, at your service.
- You seem casual for a military officer.
- Corrupted Canals
- I wasn't born to be a warrior. I'm just a farmer. I joined the Vanguard to make sure our farmlands would be safe. Turned out I had a knack for giving orders. Before I know it, I'm the captain.
- What will you do now after the treaty gets signed?
- If the treaty gets signed. Farming has taught me that nothing's certain until harvest. But if it happens, I'll gladly hang up my sword. Tired of killing. I just want to make something grow again.
- Hopefully you'll get your wish. Take care.
- Welcome to Fallen Angel Garrison, %str1%. I had heard you were in the area.
- And you are?
- We're an arm of the Krytan Seraph, stationed here to guard the queen's interests in Ebonhawke.
- Doesn't that put you at odds with the Ebon Vanguard?
- Commander Alita Lawrence. I'm in charge of the Fallen Angels, but don't let that discourage you from talking to me. We do things a bit less formally out here on the frontier.
- Tell me about the Fallen Angels.
- I know they're proud of protecting Ebonhawke. They don't like outsiders stepping in, and we're outsiders. The hardest job we got is convincing them we're here for their own good.
- Ah, you got to come in the front door. Must be nice. Everywhere I walk in this town, I've got eyes on me. Makes it tricky to shake them so I can get in here.
- The people here have a problem with us?
- You get a lot of harassment as a charr?
- Let's hold here until the other team can reach us.
