- My rifle jammed on the firing range the other day.
- Did they get you another one?
- I had a replacement before my warband left the range.
- I love that. Our armory is a well-oiled machine.
- Pay attention, scrubs. You're looking at the most sophisticated defense system ever designed.
- The Iron Legion worked tirelessly for weeks to get these devastating weapons into your hands.
- You're the vanguards for your units, and you'll be required to pass along everything you learn today.
- Now, before I talk about how to employ these beauties, let's go over the rules.
- First rule! Do not cross in front of the muzzle at any time during the cleaning, the loading, or the firing procedure.
- Second rule! Do not fill charges with more than three scoops of powder from the keg. Ever.
- Third rule! No whiskey within twenty paces of the loading breech or barrel. If tempted, ask Krold Twostumps why we added the rule.
- Moving on! Snouts up. I'm going to enlighten you to the process for loading and firing this weapon.
- First, you clean the vent and the bore. Make sure both are clear and free of powder remnants.
- Next, load the powder. Remember, three scoops! No more. No less. If less, you'll fall short of your target. If more, you'll have a very, very bad day.
- Now, you're ready to pack in the projectile. Make sure the load is fully seated, or you will burst the barrel.
- Lastly, check there's nothing forward of the muzzle, and call out to your crew before igniting the charge. Then, prime the vent and fire the weapon!
- Seems simple, but failure to follow these steps will result in death and mutilation—yours. We need every soldier in one piece. Now, get out of here.
- They're beautiful, aren't they?
- They? Are you talking about these cannons?
- Of course! What else would I be referring to? They're quite a sight. Masterful in every way, if you ask me.
- Are you just an admirer, or can you claim some credit for them?
- Drive piranhas into a feeding frenzy around your foe. Apply fury to your pet.
- They are nice. But I have other things to do.
- They're my designs. They're gonna make papa proud by pulverizing the enemy into a bright red mist.
- What makes these cannons so "masterful"?
- They may look heavy, but each of these cannons can actually be pulled by a single dolyak. That mobility means more shots on target.
- Piece[s] of Candy Corn
- I like the sound of that.
- I've also created a compact shell casing that requires a mere three scoops of black powder. Less black powder means faster reloading, which means more slaughter in less time.
- What more could you want? So long.
- Come to admire the arsenal, have you?
- Researcher Jinn
- Why does the Iron Legion place so much importance on technology?
- If this city is the body of the Iron Legion, then this right here is its heart. This is where the Iron Legion shines. Can I answer any questions about the arsenal?
- Why would this be the heart of the city?
- Why does Iron Legion rely so much on technology?
- What do you do for the Iron Legion?
- I've got nothing else to ask.
- Because for Iron Legion, creating machines for war is our lifeblood. Tanks or cannons, turrets or mortars, we live or die by this arsenal.
- Why do you put such stock in technology?
- Accuse me all you like, but you won't spoil the surprise for others. I'll make sure of that, starting with your tongue!
- That's all I needed to know. Thanks, bye.
- Technology is power. And power is control. Technology allows us to command the field of battle in a way that no other force can match.
- Why did you call this the heart of the city?
- What is your job?
- Thanks for the help. Good-bye.
- I'm the requisitions officer for the Arsenal. I supply the siege weapon designers and weapon masters with the supplies and matierials they need.
- Why did you say that about the heart of the city?
- What's so special about this technology?
- Never mind. I've got other things to do.
