- Bless you. You'll find plenty to do out in the valley. May Dwayna protect you.
- Lieutenant Nervin? I'm investigating the ambush of Falcon Company. Do you know what happened to them?
- Finally! Glad to see that Tervelan fella is looking into the matter. I've been writing to him for months. Months!
- Tervelan didn't send me. He's been charged with treason for betraying the Screaming Falcons.
- What? By the gods. No wonder he never wrote back when I told him I'd found survivors.
- Survivors? Please, tell me what you know. My sister was in that company.
- I always believed some of the Falcons survived, but could never prove it. Recently, however, I caught wind of a bandit group that bought human slaves from centaurs. It's just a rumor.
- What? Where? Why didn't you report this?
- Report it? These bandits are funded by the Ministry. I'm old, but I'm no fool. It might not be true. I'll show you where they are, but then you're on your own. Good luck!
- Shell Shock
- Where am I? I...I was fighting a great evil. Are we safe? Caithe—where is Caithe?
- Steady, sapling. You just woke. You were calling out in your Dream. Caithe was just here, but she had to go speak to the Pale Tree.
- She and I fought side by side against a poison in the Dream. I saw the shadow of a terrible dragon, and I felt the Dream call upon me to defeat it.
- By the Tree! A Wyld Hunt, so soon? And such a momentous task. To be a Valiant of the Wyld Hunt is a difficult charge. Bear this calling with pride.
- Get the Pact's top artillery company on track.
- I will. But how do I begin? One does not simply awaken and rush off to face a dragon.
- You start here, in our forest. There were others hurt in the Dream. They could use your help. Besides, it'll be fine training for a new valiant!
- Something went horribly wrong. I reported to Warmaster Caisson's artillery unit to assist them with their mission. I was put in charge of a mortar team's fire mission, but when the smoke cleared, I saw we had been shelling our own troops. How could this have happened? I know I saw the enemy when I gave the order to fire. This could have catastrophic effects on the newly formed Pact's chain of command, so I decided my top priority is getting to the bottom of this.

- Hail to you, sprout. You look so dour! Can I brighten your day?
- I have grave news. A sylvari has been injured by a poison called 'rotsap.' I'm told it is used by a group called the Nightmare Court. Caithe said that you might have an antidote?
- I wish I could help you, but I've given the last of my stock to the Wardens of Caer Verdant. The Nightmare Court have been causing trouble there.
- Please. Caithe's letter said the sylvari's need is dire.
- There is one possibility, but it's problematic. The nearby trolls battle the Nightmare Court as well, and suffer from the same poisons.
- I've heard the trolls beyond the southeast edge of the Verdence use a salve to cure the poison. If I had some, I could make it work on sylvari, too.
- I'll find the salve and bring it to you. I'll be back soon, Mender.
- Mender Aviala
- Welcome to the archives, Savant! I'm always happy to help a budding genius. What can do for you today?
- I need to check on a design I filed a while back. Has anyone signed out the blueprints for my VAL-A golem in the past few weeks?
- I'll say they have! Savant designs are always a hot ticket. Mink, Keppa, and even Councillor Haia have all accessed your little treasure recently.
- Councillor Haia? I'm honored. But I'm not familiar with Mink or Keppa. Where can I find them?
- Oh, they like to...test their "metal" against other golemancers, if you know what I mean. Mum's the word, though. The Council frowns on golem throwdowns.
- Thanks, Grep. Listen, could you send word to Zojja? Tell her I've got a lead, and to meet me at the next golem throwdown...with a viable entry.
- Sure! Anything for the Snaff Savant. I'll be sorry to miss that bout, though. Good luck! Give Mink and Keppa my best, and your worst.
- Trahearne has suggested that Malyck speak with Amaranda, a scholar of the Dream. Perhaps if Malyck can remember his Dream, he can explain how he became separated from the Pale Tree.
- Greetings, Novice! It's my pleasure to welcome you to the Priory's Rata Sum headquarters.
- Thanks. Though after all I've been through, it's a little strange being called "novice." I suppose I have to start somewhere, right?
- Precisely. No special treatment for the Snaff Savant...although if you stay true to form, I expect you'll be moving up the ranks extremely quickly.
- Well, look who's come calling. Here for a gander at your new order's Rata Sum headquarters?
- Take a good look, Initiate. You might have to squint, though: we usually don't draw attention to ourselves.
- If you want to get ahead in this order, you need to perfect the art of taking in the scenery without being seen.
- Welcome to Vigil's Rata Sum HQ, Recruit.
- Thanks, Warmaster. It's a little ego-crushing to be a "recruit" again after all I've been through, but I'll get used to it.
- Well, the way you handle yourself, I expect you'll outrank me in a week or two. But until then: are you ready to take on the Arcane Eye?
- Hey, it's you again. I see you survived with your epidermis intact.
- Of course. It takes more than a giant, rampaging Inquest golem to get the better of me.
- Heh, modest too. Well, you've earned a dash of praise, if you ask me.
- The court have many camps hidden throughout Caledon Forest. Ysvelta could be anywhere.
